Indiana ICHRA CMS/SBA event: Small-business affordability, employee choice, and lessons from Indiana employers
Check back for the latest updates on the event and the future of ICHRA
September 3, 2026, 11:40 a.m. EDT - The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the Small Business Administration are holding a conversation around the individual coverage health reimbursement arrangement (ICHRA) in New Palestine, Indiana on September 3, 2026.
The event, facilitated by Oscar Health, is hosted at Hancock Health's Wellness Center, one of Remodel Health's ICHRA clients.
During the discussion, those in attendance will hear from CMS, the SBA, Indiana employers, small-business advocates, market leaders, and Remodel Health about the impact of ICHRA.
ICHRA allows employers of all sizes, from small business to enterprise groups, to offer tax-free defined contributions to employees for their qualified individual health insurance premiums. It gives employees more choice in their healthcare while employers get cost predictability.
Among those participating in the conversation are Remodel Health CEO Austin Lehman, Senior Vice President of Carrier Relations Jon Whitmer, and representatives from Remodel Health client Hancock Health.
ICHRA is now the CHOICE Arrangement
September 3, 2026, 2:15 p.m. EDT - The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the Small Business Administration announced during a press conference at Hancock Health that ICHRA is now the CHOICE Arrangement2.
A new webpage on the CMS website confirms the rename, and that the ICHRA benefit currently remains unchanged other than the new name.
We're proud to have been in attendance at the press conference and to have played a roll in making the September 3, 2026 event happen.
Why Indiana for this event?
Indiana was chosen as the backdrop for this event due to its history of healthcare and insurance innovation. It was also the first state to create an ICHRA tax credit for small businesses with HB 1004 in 2023. We're proud that our ICHRA client Hancock Health was chosen as the location for this important conversation around ICHRA.
